If you are using AOL or some kindof web browser that doesn't allow you to access your ThunderBird or some kindof mail client. Here a work around using html script.
Make a favorite and put this in as its path.
Examples
Inbox - C:Program FilesMozilla Thunderbirdthunderbird
(Notice no extension! You have to make the path go to a shortcut of the program to open it correctly)
Compose Mail - mailto:
News - news:
This really came in handy when the IE7 beta had no email button.
